Hello April

Today starts a new month, April. Spring arrives (hopefully) and the sun starts shining (again, hopefully, ha), April is also my Birthday month, tomorrow in fact. I like to do these update/personal posts every month and set myself small goals for the upcoming four weeks. I achieved all of my goals from March, including lose a few more pounds (yay!), getting more organised and also drinking more water (still need to work on this one).

I have an exciting month planned for my blog and Youtube, there will be 2 videos every week on my channel and I have got a schedule for my posts. Both blogging and making videos is by far my favourite thing to do in my spare time, I'm constantly striving to improve both platforms and create amazing content for you all. My only other goal for April is to be more active, whether its walking or an exercise DVD - it counts.

Here's to an amazing April! Do you have any goals this month?

March Beauty Favourites

Here's an overview of my March beauty favourites. I'll start off with my favourite lipsticks of the moment, Topshop's Innocent and Whimsical. The colours are so easy to wear and they are super moisturising, the only slight downfall to them is that they aren't very longlasting, but for the price you can't complain. Then we have my current favourite foundation at the moment, No7 Superlight. It's light to medium coverage and very buildable. Its water based so it leaves the skin looking slightly dewy and best of all it lasts all day! My favourite concealer has to be Maybelline's Dream LumiTouch , out of all of the highlighting pens I own this is the best for me. The shade is perfect for the under eye and it blends like a dream, without any caking. You all know how much I love Origins skincare and this month the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask has worked wonders for my skin. I pop it on all over my face before I go to bed and the next morning my skin is hydrated and fresh ready for the day. Lastly I have been wearing the Vivienne Westwood Naughty Alice fragrance non stop this month, its such a light vanilla-esque feminine scent - perfect for the daytime.

If you want to see more of my lifestyle favourites then you can watch my video here, which features my favourite tv dramas, food and bloggers that I've been loving for March.

OOTD FAIL

Why I ever thought it would be possible to take outfit photos in my room, I'll never know. There is not enough space, ha! I ended up out of focus and cut in half, its the effort that counts right? In terms of the outfit, I went for a simple jumper and jeans combo (you know me) paired with my burgundy croc slip ons - which you can't see, lol.

I hope you all had a lovely week, its Friday woo!! I have this weekend off work and I'm spending it celebrating my Birthday with some friends and family. Have a great weekend!

Wishlist: Homeware

I'm currently in the process of revamping my bedroom, its very much in need of a fresh slick of paint and some new storage and accessories here and there. So I've done a spot of browsing and found some bits and bobs that I think would spruce it up a little.

I have been meaning to pick up an inspiring and positive print like this one for a while now, this is from notonthehighstreet.com (one of my favourite shopping websites). Another gem from the same website are these adorable biscuit cushions, how cute are they?! I've been browsing Yankee Candle's new collection for Spring and Easter, this White Chocolate Bunnies candle is my favourite and Bunny Cake seems like my kind of scent too. A book I have been meaning to get my hands on for quite some time is Alexa Chung 'It', perfect when you're looking for some inspiration. Lastly, I desperately need some new makeup storage and you can't go wrong with those acrylic drawers from Muji.

Where are your favourite places to shop for homeware or lifestyle goodies?

My Spring Playlist

A bit of a different post from me today but as I've been listening to a lot of new music recently, I thought I would share some of my favourites that I've found myself either humming along to or rather belting out at the top of my lungs, ha!
John Martin - Anywhere For You
Tourist ft Will Heard - I Can't Keep Up
Sigma ft Kanye West - Nobody To Love
Calvin Harris - Summer
Paramore - Ain't It Fun

What are some of your favourite songs at the moment? I'd love to know!

Video: The Primark Haul

Just in case you haven't seen it, I uploaded a small Primark haul on my channel this weekend. I don't tend to talk too much about my videos over here on my blog, only because I think both platforms are quite separate as some some of my blog readers may not necessarily enjoy watching youtube videos - vice versa.  I just wanted to let you guys know (if you are interested in my channel) that for the month of April I will be uploading two videos a week, one on Wednesday and the other on the weekend. If it goes well and I enjoy it then ideally I would love to carry on this type of schedule. Similarly in terms of my blog I've scheduled posts for the upcoming month and will be posting 3/4 per week - as usual!

Hope you're all having a great weekend, I watched World War Z last night and I surprisingly really enjoyed it. Tonight I'm settling in with a Maltesers hot chocolate ready to watch The Great Gatsby for the first time, eek!

New In: YSL Pur Couture Lipstick

If you watched my recent beauty haul which you can find here, I mentioned my newest high end purchase - this amazing YSL lipstick. I totally bought it on the whim, there I was swatching away and then this one caught my eye, its a peachy coral shade with a gold undertone (how could I say no?!). This little luxurious beauty did cost me a scary £25, but the gorgeous YSL packaging and soft velvety finish won me over.

Whats your favourite high end lipstick? Let me know!

OOTD: Snake Tee

Tee - Topshop
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Primark
Coat - Primark

Since buying this snake print tee that I grabbed from the last chance to buy rack in my local Topshop, I've been wearing it to death. It goes with so many outfits, jeans one day, tucked into a skirt the next, the options are endless in my eyes, haha! Do excuse the out of focus shot, I'm still trying to get the hang of taking outfit photos. Just before I sign off, I am loving Topshop at the moment, they have so many amazing pieces for the upcoming Spring and Summer! I may have just made a cheeky order online, oops.

The Sunday Post: Hello Spring!

Spring arrived early this week, but I had to make the most of it as its meant to be getting colder again soon. Today was spent out in the sun, I went for a walk along the seafront and the view was just amazing. Followed by some good old pub food, the sharing platter was so yummy. Last night there was a beautiful sunset and I had the best chicken caesar salad ever for dinner!

As the sun is setting I'm snuggled up catching up on some Youtube videos with a cup of tea, thats what Sundays are made for! I just uploaded a Beauty Haul on my channel which you can find here. Next week's video will be a Spring Primark Haul, oops.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Nars 'And God Created The Woman' Palette

Ever since I bought the Nars 'And God Created The Woman Palette' I've pretty much used it most days, you can create a vast amount of looks with it and I adore the pigmentation of all of the colours. It offers different types of finished including shimmery, glittery and matte so it would suit everyone. I have to apologise for how messy it is but it just proves how often I use it and how much I love it.
I wasn't sure if you could still get this palette as I thought it may have been limited edition, however I found it on SpaceNK, HERE. It is out of stock at the moment but they could possibly be getting more in?!

Whats your favourite eyeshadow palette? I'm thinking of finally getting my hands on the Naked 3 palette!

The Beauty Tag

I saw this tag over on one of my favourite blogs, Sailor Jennie! I adore her posts and her photography is amazing too and as soon as I saw this tag I had to do it too. Here goes.

1. Do you remember your first makeup item?
I remember having a few of those makeup palettes that had eyes, lips and cheek products all full of glitter when I was younger. But my first 'proper' makeup item I bought was definitely a Barry M product, either a pink dazzle dust (Yes, really) or the lavender lipstick (Don't ask).

2. What kind of coverage do you prefer for your foundation?
I actually prefer a light but buildable coverage for everyday wear, my two favourites at the moment are the Bourjois Happy Light and the No7 Superlight foundations. If its a night out or evening occasion then I like something a little heavier.

3. Favourite high end brand?
Nars is a firm favourite of mine.

4. Favourite drugstore/high street brand?
Overall it would be Revlon, they have such a great selection of lip products. I do also love Bourjois for base products.

5. What cosmetics brands have you always wanted to try but still haven't?
Oo I would have to say YSL, I also would love try out more Laura Mercier products as I've only ever tried the tinted moisturiser which I loved.

6. Do you wear fake eyelashes?
Very rarely, only on special occasions but my favourite lashes are the Demi Wispies by Ardell.

7. Is there any kind of makeup you can't leave the house without?
Concealer, concealer and concealer. I have such dark circles under my eyes that they always need a touch of concealer.

8. What is your most cherished beauty product?
For me it has to be the Dior Amber Diamond Highlight, it took me so long to find and its most definitely well loved.

9. How often do you shop for makeup? Do you pick out a lot of products at once?
I could spend so much money on makeup, its ridiculous haha. But I buy a few products every month, most of them I have already read reviews on and researched them so consequently they get added to my beauty wishlist. Then every month I will buy a few of the products off of the wishlist, its a never-ending cycle.

10. Do you have a 'beauty budget'?
I do give myself a budget on beauty treats every month, same goes with clothes and accessories.

11. What type of product do you buy the most?
Lip products, 100 percent!

12. Do you have a favourite place to shop for makeup?
I adore browsing on a few different beauty websites, my favourites are SpaceNK, FeelUnique and CultBeauty. I'm forever adding products to the basket but never actually purchasing any.

13. If you could only buy from one brand, what brand would you choose?
There's too many to choose from, either Nars or MAC although I don't like their foundations.

14. Which brand has the best packaging?
For me, I think there something about Chanel packaging, so luxurious. I do also love Charlotte Tilbury's rose gold and metallic packaging too!

15. Which celebrity always has great makeup?
Millie Mackintosh always has such lovely glowy makeup, same goes for Miranda Kerr she can pull off any makeup look but I love how effortless and natural it is most of the time.

16. Which do you apply first, concealer or foundation?
Foundation followed by concealer, sometimes I like to create a 'sandwich' effect by applying a little bit of a corrector first then my foundation and then more concealer on top for more coverage.

17. Do you like multifunctional products like lip and cheek stains?
I personally find those type of products hard to work with, so there not for me. I just can't master cream blush or anything like that unfortunately.

18. Do you apply your foundation with a brush, sponge or fingers?
I only ever use a brush for my base, I have two favourites by Real Techniques they are the Expert Face brush and the Buffing brush is amazing too.

19. Which foundation do you use the most?
At the moment I'm loving using the Bourjois Happy Light Foundation and the Bare Minerals Original Powder over the top.

20. Do you use a makeup base or primer for they eyes?
I haven't really found a primer that works for me, I tried the Benefit Porefessional but I just didn't feel like it really did anything. For my eyes I always use a base, either the Nars Eyeshadow Primer or the MAC Bare Study Paintpot.

I hope you enjoy this tag lovelies, I'd love to read your version of it too let me know in the comments if you decide to do it!

Video: My Morning Skincare Routine

This weeks video is all about my morning skincare routine, I don't talk about skincare too much on both my blog and youtube but its only in the recent months that I've been really getting into trying new products and learning about what there is to offer. In result, I now have a rather long skincare wishlist - oops. The products I use in the morning are mostly refreshing and brightening for example  I use both the Origins GinZing Moisturiser and Eye Cream. I particularly love the Boots Botanics range and use both their All Bright Purifying Face Scrub and the Rosewater Toning Spritz is my favourite toner. I'm still on the search for the best morning cleanser but at the moment I'm using Origins Make A Difference Cleansing Milk, which is lovely. Lastly I finish off with prepping my lips for the day by using the Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub followed with my must have lip balm, Nuxe Reve De Miel

I will be posting my evening skincare routine in a month or so as I'm still trying out products and haven't got a specific routine just yet. I really want to get my hands on the Origins Night A Mins Moisturiser and some Kiehl's products too.

What are some of your favourite skincare products? I would love to know!

OOTD: Oxblood Details

This outfit is very similar to my last style post, which you can find here. But instead of the converse I opted for my new oxblood faux croc slip ons and matching bag, both of which are from Topshop. Unfortunately shortly after these photos were taken one of the handles on the bag just snapped off, wah! It was sadly beyond repair and my bargain of a bag (Down to £12 in the sale fyi) was returned much to my dismay. I'm still on the search for a new bag, I spotted one on the Zara website so you may be seeing it soon..

Wishlist: Topshop Pastels

Spring are you here yet, please? In the meantime I've been perusing the Topshop website and lusting after all of these lovely pastel pieces. I adore the pastel mint/blue coat and the scalloped hem skirts are just adorable. Along with these candy coloured clothes I love to wear neutrals for Spring and throughout Summer too. I can't wait to spruce up my dark Winter wardrobe with some new light pieces.

What are you most looking forward to this Spring time?

The Sunday Post: The Lounge

How quickly has the past week gone?! This week I popped into a local cafe/bar called Circo Lounge and had a rather delicious hot chocolate, I met up with my family for lunch but I just stuck to a hot drink as did my parents who only had great things to say about their lattes. My brother opted for some lunch and had the lamb and mint kofta panini, he too was not disappointed. The interior has a retro 70's feel with the original wallpaper that was left before it was turned into the Lounge in 2012.  They offer a vast menu of food ranging from pancakes to hotdogs and everything in between, including vegan and gluten free options. If you're from the Bournemouth area then I would definitely recommend popping in if you can.

This week I posted my February Favourites video on my Youtube channel which you can find here. I also blogged about my March goals which you can read here.

Happy Sunday loves.

March is here!

Can you believe its March already?! I can't wait for it warm up slightly here in the UK, I'm yearning for Spring to arrive. At the end of last month I set myself some small goals which included losing a few pounds, getting out of the house a tad more, to take more photos and to smile and laugh more. Looking back on the past month I have definitely achieved these goals, and I am quite surprised I managed it. I had some time off work in February as holiday and I really got to focus on my fitness and health and I lost 2lbs (I know its not a big loss but I'm still pleased!).

March is going to be a busy month for me in terms of work and social life, I have lots of things planned which I'm looking forward to. This month I've set myself a couple more goals, I would like to and need to drink more water! I hope to keep on track on my healthy eating and hopefully lose a few more pounds. My last goal this month would be to be get more organised, I would like to start planning my blog posts for the week ahead and also to plan some future Youtube videos.

I hope you all have a great March! Do you have any goals this month?
