New Hair

Thanks for all of your lovely feedback on my last hair post, I decided to go ahead with it and get the chop. Now its not as short as what I thought or said it would be, but I am thinking of going shorter next time I see my hairdresser. I styled my hair here with the Babyliss Soft Waves hair tool but I used a different tool yesterday and I much prefer it, it will be featured in a post soon! I have my eye on a few of the Oribe products, in particular the Dry Texturising Spray and the Maximista Thickening Spray. Have you tried any of these products or have any other recommendations?

Lipstick Lust

We all have that one type of product in our makeup collection that we never have enough of, or can never find the right shade, or we just like to have a selection to choose from. For some it might be foundation, others it might be eyeshadow, for me it has been and it always will be - lipstick. In my eyes you can never have too many lipsticks, theres so many shades, textures and finishes to choose from nowadays. So I have whittled my current wishlist down to these five favourites.

Having heard so much about Tom Ford lipsticks they are firmly at the top of my wishlist. All of the shades look amazing but for my first dabble into the brand I would love to try a nude, in particular 'Blush Nude' looks perfect.

Then we have the Rouge Volupte lipstick by YSL, I purchased the infamous shade of Lingerie Pink quite a while ago now and I've hardly worn it. This is for a number of reasons but mostly because it looks too lovely to use and secondly I feel like the shade doesn't suit me at all. I have my eye on the shade 'Peach Passion', it looks much more up my street rather than a baby pink.

Another lip product I have been lusting after for a long while now is the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, they're long lasting and non drying and there is a great selection of colours to choose from, the shade 'Damned' looks beautiful.

I could not do a lipstick post without mentioning MAC, right? When I was last in store I spotted the 'Viva Glam' lipstick, its an intense burgundy red shade and I have been thinking about it ever since, I will most likely be buying this on my next shopping trip.

Lastly we have the Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick by Hourglass in the colour 'Riviera', Hourglass is a brand that I have not had the chance to try yet but I've seen so many brilliant reviews on this liquid lipstick range, I'm most definitely wanting to try them.

I'd love to know what lipsticks you're currently lusting after? Have you tried any of the lipsticks I've mentioned?

January Beauty Favourites!

Thanks for all of the lovely feedback on my last post about going for the chop, I'm pleased to say I did go ahead with it, its not as short as I thought it would be but I'm so happy with it! Pictures to follow soon. Onto my monthly favourites, I usually do a favourites video every couple of months on my Youtube channel which you can find here. This month I decided to write up a post on the beauty items that I have been loving recently, so here goes.

I have been using this daily for the past month now and its the best day moisturiser I've ever used. It leaves your skin feeling super refreshed and bright whilst hydrated, the citrus scent is amazing too. I am on the lookout for a rich night cream, if you have any recommendations please let me know in the comments!

I've been using this product on and off for the past year but the past month I've used this pretty much everyday. Its such a refreshing toner and I like the fact you can just spray it either all over your face just to freshen the skin up after cleansing or use it with a cotton pad.  After I've used this I know theres no more makeup or dirt left from the day on my skin. Its such a reasonable price and its 100% organic too.

The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Polish - sold out online
This body polish is such a gentle exfoliator its lovely to use daily all over, it lathers up slightly as you rub it into the skin and it leaves a lovely ginger and honey scent.

I got this smaller size cream in a gift set I received at Christmas and I have to say that out of all of the four scents this is my favourite. This has to be the most luxurious body cream I've ever tried. The scent is just gorgeous and it leaves my skin feeling so hydrated and soft. Admittedly I am using it sparingly as its pretty darn expensive.

This has been my go to foundation for the past few months now, initially I didn't think it would suit me as I have normal/oily but with a touch of powder theres no shine. The finish is slightly dewy but not overly and the medium coverage is perfect for me. I can't recommend this foundation enough and I will most definitely be repurchasing this one soon.

Bourjois Blush in 03 £7.99
Now this is an awful product if you want to use it for blush, but the past few weeks I've actually been using it in my crease as eyeshadow and I've been loving it! Its a gorgeous peachy shade and it really brightens up the eye. If you want to see what it looks like on then I show a close up in the video, here.

Similar to the Clinique Chubby Stick these Pen Sticks are divine. My favourite colours are Passionate Red and Vibrant Pink, the colours are so intense but they are glossy at the same time so your lips are left feeling soft and moisturised - but not sticky at all. The colour lasts for ages, by ages I mean at least 5/6 hours without having to reapply and that was because I had lunch!

Having recently fallen out of love with my Maybelline The Falsies mascara, I picked up this mascara to try and take its place. Having used it for a couple of weeks now, I'm so pleased with the results, it lengthens but mostly thickens the lashes and gives so much volume but without any clumpiness, perfect.

So there we have it, my January beauty favourites. I did also include some fashion and lifestyle favourites in the full video if you want to see those. Lastly, I mentioned some of my favourite b/vloggers and videos of the month, Vivanna Does Makeup and Lily Pebbles recently done a series of videos all about their b/vlogging tips, which was amazing. The playlist is here, if you haven't already seen the videos. Two of my favourite blogs over the past few months have been I Covet Thee and A Rosie Outlook, I'm sure you already read their blogs but if for some reason you don't you have to have a nose!

Let me know if you enjoyed this beauty post! What are some of your favourites this month?

Do I go for the chop?

Being a Kardashian-Jenner fan of course I follow all of the clan on Instagram to get a glimpse into their glamorous lives. As soon as I saw Kylie Jenner's new hairdo I asked the question, do I go for the chop? Now I've pretty much had long hair for the past five years and I'll be honest sometimes I think its a security blanket. This year I want to do more things for me and push myself and having my hair cut is a big thing for me but I keep thinking it will grow back, it probably won't even take that long grow again. Right? Alternatively I might have it lightened a little at the ends, I just can't decide.

I have an appointment tomorrow with my hairdresser aka my Auntie Lynda, I'm going to get her thoughts on the chop. But before I do, I'd love to know what you think!

Monday Rambles

Yesterday afternoon I went for a brisk walk with my Mum and we stopped at this amazing viewpoint, its literally five minutes from my house but I rarely wander up there. This week I was lucky enough to have a weekend off work - Sunday and Monday still counts. Working in retail I rarely have two days off in a row. It's been a sunny yet chilly weekend and I've managed to tackle a couple of tasks that I've been putting off for a while. Said tasks included cleaning my makeup brushes - anyone else find this such a chore? Cleaning my room, resulting with two full bin bags full of old clothes, old makeup etc. I really wanted to do some baking today but before I knew it it was half four and I have some blog posts to plan and a new video to edit ready for the weekend. It will have to wait until next week when I have a week off work, woo!

Hope you're all having a good start to the week.

Sweet Tooth Favourites

How good do those cookies look?! I admit I most definitely have more of a sweet tooth than savoury. I crave all of the bad sugary delicacies, cookies, brownies, cakes, chocolate. Something I would like to try more of this year is baking, now I'm not good at baking at all but when scrolling through my Bloglovin feed I always, always click on a recipe/food post. Ideally I plan on blogging one recipe post a month - eep, lets just say it depends on the outcome. Here's some of my favourite recipe posts from a few of my favourite bloggers.

Triple Chocolate Cookies - Vivianna Does Makeup
Honeycomb Brownies - What Olivia Did
Banana Loaf - The Beauty Explorer

I would love to know some of your favourite baking recipes, leave links in the comments!

Whats In My Bag

Here it is, whats in my bag at the moment - minus all of the receipts and rubbish at the bottom of the bag! Starting from the left we have a very old Topshop purse which desperately needs updating, Then we have my all time favourite lip balm which I constantly rave about Nuxe Reve De Miel. My VS make up bag which holds mostly lipsticks and not much else. A pen to write in a very old Emma Bridgewater notebook I found laying about the house. Pictured underneath is my trusty Moleskine planner - I couldn't live without it. I like to keep a scent in my bag so at the moment I have VS Amber Romance body spray, it smells divine. A little bottle of antibacterial gel, an essential really. Lastly I have my Primark black gloves that allow you to use your touch screen phone. After taking this photo I realised I completely forgot to include my phone, but I'm mostly like to always have that on me. Oh and of course the bag itself is a Primark bargain at £6.

Hope you liked catching a glimpse of what I keep in my bag, have you done a post too? Leave a link down below.

This Week I've Been...

Listening to: I'm a little late on this one but I've had 'The 1975' on repeat for the last month now, 'Settle Down' is a favourite of mine at the moment.

Watching: 'Silent Witness' is back on so I sat down on Friday night and watched both of this weeks episodes back to back. It was the finale of 'Boardwalk Empire' this week too, eek it was a tearjerker.

Reading: 'The Silent Tide' by Rachel Hore, its not my usual novel but I'm enjoying it at the moment. I'm looking forward to start 'Rivers of London' too.

Wearing: My go to black skinnies - the Topshop Jamie highwaisted ankle grazers! Comfortable but fitting and they go with everything.

Talking About: Booking a holiday, I'm looking forward to travel as much as possible this year.

Just before I finish today's post I was asked to feature in a blogger series over on What Lauren Says blog where I answered various questions about blogging and beauty etc. It was so lovely to be asked and I'm looking forward to the upcoming posts and finding some more bloggers!

One Line a Day...

As soon as I saw the One Line A Day book I knew I had to get it, even if it was a few days after the New Year. It's a five year memory book where you write a few lines about your day everyday for five years. I think its such a lovely idea and it will be so nice to look back and see where I was, what I was doing and what I was thinking as the years go on. Whilst perusing Amazon I came across Rivers of London, which I've been intrigued about since watching Tanya Burr talk about it in a few of her vlogs. Lastly I finally purchased  Blog Inc. which again is a book I've seen a lot of over the past year or so and I think it will be great for inspiring me and improving my blog in every way I can.

What books have you purchased recently? Can you recommend any reads for me?

Skincare Wishlist

I hate to say it but some days I don't wear any SPF on my face, eek. This needs to change and having heard rave reviews on the Kiehl's SPF 50, its at the top of my skincare wishlist. Then we have the infamous Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, I've actually never tried any products from this brand but I really would like to try the hot cloth cleanser. Origins, you all know my love for this brand. I am loving the energy boosting moisturiser at the moment and having combination skin I need to get my hands on the Out of Trouble face mask. Lastly is the Dior Creme De Rose, having just watched heyclaire's december favourites I definitely want to try this lip balm out.

What products are currently on your skincare wishlist?

Its The Little Things

This week I've been appreciating the little things in life and wanted to share some of them with you.

After working up an appetite with Davina's Fit in 15 this morning I treated myself to marmalade on toast with a sweet cup of tea, the perfect way to begin a Sunday.

Spending time with my bestie over dinner and reliving some of our favourite memories together. We couldn't help but laugh as we had the worst service ever, there was no food left apparently!

One of my goals this year is to start reading again, this week I began to read a book which I wouldn't usually opt for but I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Finishing a long day of work and coming home to a cup of tea and a hot bath, bliss.

What little things have made your week?

OOTD: Black & Taupe

Coat - Marks & Spencer
Top - Primark
Jeans - Topshop
Loafers - River Island

Yes, its another new coat. It's my third coat purchase this Winter but this is by far my favourite and I will not be buying another anytime soon! I happened to be in Marks & Spencer with my Mum when I saw this little taupe beauty on the sale rack. In my size. It was meant to be, it was originally £89 reduced down to £58 and I'm so pleased with it. It's a thick wool material and its super cosy and warm. I styled it today with a black rollneck and my Topshop highwaisted Jamie jeans, finished off with my River Island loafers. I've just finished editing a 'get ready with me' video which will be up this weekend on my channel, and I'm looking forward to have a pamper evening with a nice hot bath before watching Silent Witness (yay, its back!).

Ready for 2014?!

Happy New Year!

I can safely say that 2013 was the year I came into my own. I learnt so much not only about myself but everyone and everything around me. Like every year it had its up and its downs but overall it was an incredible year. I was lucky enough to travel and meet some amazing people from all over the world. I went on a city break with Mich (my Mum) in April for my 21st Birthday, and then travelled all around Spain in July and August. Around that time I also bought a fancy new camera and decided to pursue blogging and vlogging as its something that truly makes me happy. The blogging community really is wonderful and so inspirational, I hope in 2014 that I can call other bloggers my friends. In my personal life I realised who my true friends were and I appreciate them more now than ever before.

All in all I've made both good and bad decisions this year but I've most definitely learnt from the bad ones and gained so much from the good choices I've made. 2013 has given me some amazing memories and I've never felt happier than what I do now. I'm so excited to see what 2014 brings, I have some exciting plans lined up this year and I can't wait to make 2014 my year.

Now I'm not one for resolutions, but I decided to set myself some goals that I would love achieve in 2014.

- Drink more water!
- Travel as much as I possibly can, both abroad and in the UK
- To work even harder on my blog!
- Be more organised
- Get out of my comfort zone by saying YES to more things
- Make the healthier choice
- Spend even more time with my family and friends
- Take more photographs!
- To make better content on my Youtube channel
- Book New York 2015 with my Mum
- Meet new people and make new friends
- Stay positive and be HAPPY!

I can't thank all of you enough for reading my blog and leaving lovely comments, it means so much to me and I hope you all continue with me on my blogging journey in 2014. Wishing you all an amazing New Year!!
