España Part 9 - GIBRALTAR

On the way to Seville we had an afternoon stop in Gibraltar. Luckily this was a few days before the recent trouble with both of the governments so there was no problem crossing the border (which is literally an airport runway). We arrived in the town square and had a traditional British lunch of fish and chips - it is a UK territory after all! The tour guide said many a time that Gibraltar is a little Britain, the only reason why you would think that is because there is a WHSmith and a red telephone box.

After lunch we had a minibus tour of 'The Rock' and made our way up to the caves where the notorious apes cause havoc. We stopped at an amazing viewpoint, where on a clear day you can see Africa!

After the expedition in the caves and some posing with the monkeys we made our way back across the border and carried on our journey to our next stop, Seville.

To break up the Spain posts a bit I decided to share with you my day in London. I have many memories of visiting London as a child and I remember finding it fascinating. Still to this day I love to visit the capital to wander the streets and see the sights. As South West Trains were offering £15 return tickets from Bournemouth it was the perfect excuse for me and my mum to go.

We headed to Covent Garden for some shopping and frozen yoghurt (Its an addiction!). After a couple of hours there we walked to Oxford Street to have a browse. I went into Forever 21 for the first time and left feeling disappointed. I also went to Victoria's Secret for the first time and came away a very happy girl! I wish I wasn't on a budget though as some of the lingerie was just beautiful, but expensive. If you would like to see the purchases I made in London there is a haul video on my youtube channel

Enough shopping, we needed to catch our train back home and grab a bite to eat. We hopped on the tube back to Waterloo Station and got some goodies from M&S (cookies, yum!) and in the nick of time we got on our train for our journey back to Bournemouth. I did vlog my day in London if you would like to have a nose heres the link.

Thats all for now,
I look forward to seeing you again soon London!

España Part 8 - GRANADA

After a long day of travelling via ferry and coach (whilst hungover..) we finally arrived in Granada. I was pretty exhausted by this point so after the included dinner I headed straight for bed. Just as a side note, we were really lucky with how lovely most of the hotels were - pretty much all of them were 4*.

The next morning we headed off on our first tour of the day, we wandered around El Albaicin which is the old Moorish quarter of Granada and it had amazing views over the Alhambra.

We had the afternoon to ourselves so me and some of the girls decided to do a bit of shopping - of course! We wandered the through the narrow lanes full of markets and then had a lunchtime stop, which undoubtably was frozen yoghurt (Strawberries and muesli is the best combo ever).

After shopping we headed back to the hotel for a bit of bathing by the pool, or a siesta for some people.  That evening we had our second tour of the day, a guided tour of the Alhambra. We started off by walking through the gardens and the views were spectacular. The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex constructed in 889 and later in 1333 converted into a Royal Palace. The architecture and detail is amazing.

Following the Alhambra tour we made our way into town for some tapas and a traditional Shisha in a Moroccan tea room. Granada was definitely a stark contrast to the couple of days spent in Ibiza, but it really shows the influence of the Moors in Spanish history and culture and its a beautiful place to visit.

España Part 7 - IBIZA

Ibiza was A-MAZING. We spent two nights in our hotel based in Ibiza Town, I really didn't know if I would enjoy Ibiza but I had such fun and spent it with some of the best people on my tour!

Our hotel had its own pool so on the afternoon we arrived we headed straight there with some cheap alcohol (classy I know). Some of the tour group headed to Ushuaia to watch Avicii whereas me and a few of the girls opted for dinner and drinks at Cafe Mambo! By the time we got to San Antonio we just missed the sunset but still had a lovely evening - with some cocktails of course.

The next day was a busy one, we had tickets to see F*ck me I'm Famous at Ushuaia and a State of Trance at Privilege. I spent the day bathing and pre drinking by the pool (as did everyone else) and then  made my way to Ushuaia, where I saw Nervo, Steve Aoki and then David Guetta. We managed to get on a platform with an amazing view of the stage and spent the whole evening there, the atmosphere was unreal. We hopped on the night bus back to our hotel for a quick change and spruce up ready for Privilege (it holds up to 17,000 people eek). Bearing in mind I really don't listen to too much trance music, I loved it! By 5am most of the tour group were all worse for wear and we had to be up for  the ferry at 8am, it was time for a few hours sleep.

And that was Ibiza, I am definitely thinking of going back there for a long weekend next Summer!
